About the event
Hear from a panel of guest speakers with experience and passion for maintaining the value of longevity in textiles.
From repair to reuse, swapping to second hand shopping and all of the community sharing programmes and resale business models in between, in recent years the pace of tech and social innovation has increased rapidly to keep textiles in active use for as long as possible. Can this movement - seeking value of textile longevity - actually move everyone away from dominant hyper-consumption-as-usual?
The panel speakers include:
- Wendy Ward (Designer, maker and activist)
- Kate France (Founder Kirklees Uniform Exchange)
- Cicely Rae (Second hand stylist and crochet artist)
- Local repair service TBC
The panel will be chaired by Gemma Metheringham (The Elephant in My Wardrobe) and followed by an audience Q&A.
