We are so excited have received funding from One Community to deliver
our most ambitious programme for Sustainable Fashion Week 2026, extending the activities throughout the month, creating: Sustainable Fashion September! 

It will bring together a programme of workshops, stitch socials, school assemblies and more throughout September 2026 as Thread Republic returns for the third year as the Huddersfield Hub for the national action: Sustainable Fashion Week.

FABRIC SHOP & HABERDASHERY

The Thread Republic Shop returns for September!
Selling donated fabrics and haberdashery on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout September.
10.30am - 3.30pm.
We're popping up within the new Maker World space in the Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield.
Opening day: Thursday 1 September 2026!


CLOTHES SWAP
Bring up to 10 items of good quality clothing and swap for new-to-you items in the
Packhorse Centre walkway outside Makerworld. FREE. Saturday 12 September. 11am - 2pm


FILM SCREENING: 
FASHION REIMAGINED 
Friday 2 October at The Civic in Slaithwaite in collaboration with Electric Theatre Cinema.
The documentary follows the story of fashion designer Amy Powney who is on a mission to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment and transform the way we engage with fashion. 2022 (12A).

A tour of the northern sorting and logistics hub for Oxfam,
home of their festivals and ecommerce team in Batley, North Kirklees.

Visiting 4 high schools in and around Huddersfield to spotlight sustainability, textiles and local opportunities for training, skills, education and careers in textiles and fashion.
