About the event
Mountmellick is an Irish form of Hand Embroidery inspired by nature. The embroidery is worked using white thread on a white fabric background, with different threads used to create contrast and detail. During this workshop you'll learn how to transfer your chosen design on to fabric (no drawing skills needed) before moving on to explore some of the traditional stitches used in Mountmellick embroidery. By the end of the workshop you will have created your own small piece of Mountmellick embroidery to frame, use as a greetings card or patch on a bag or garment. All materials are included with the workshop suitable for those of all levels of embroidery experience including beginners.
