About the event
The traditional patchwork technique of English Paper Piecing involves cutting & folding fabric around paper templates, secured with hand-sewn stitches, to create small shapes which can be sewn together to form a larger shape. In this short introduction, you’ll learn some basic fussy cutting & hand-sewing techniques to paper-pieced hexagon rosette.
This fabric flower can be the starting point of a blanket or cushion, or used as an embellishment for a wide range of projects, including clothing embellishment.
This type of patchwork is incredibly relaxing and a good way to unwind after a busy day. It’s also a great way to make use of scrap fabric, and could be used as a mending technique to cover holes or stains in existing textiles.
Materials included: fabric scraps, scissors, needle, thread and paper templates.
